Mark A O'Connor

Mark A. O’Connor, APC

Mark A. O’Connor is an experienced attorney whose practice focuses on business litigation. He has successfully prosecuted claims and defended important rights for his clients before judges and juries in both state and federal courts. With more than 25 years of experience in litigation, Mr. O’Connor is particularly adept at pre-dispute counseling, the negotiations needed to resolve disputes and the advocacy skills to end disputes.

A California native, Mr. O’Connor grew up in Sacramento. While studying business administration at the University of Pacific, Mr. O’Connor began work as a professional ski instructor. He obtained his Bachelors degree in business at the same time he achieved the highest level of certification with the Professional Ski Instructors of America.

After developing business skills in the field of resort management, Mr. O’Connor began his legal career in Sacramento at California’s oldest law firm, Diepenbrock, Wulff, Plant & Hannegan. He represented individuals and businesses in a civil litigation practice which included employment law, insurance coverage and contractual matters. He also acted as a Deputy District Attorney trying cases for the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.

In 1993, Mr. O’Connor left Sacramento to join the Horan law firm in the County of Monterey, California. While developing his civil litigation practice on the Central Coast, Mr. O’Connor also established himself as a respected law professor. He taught Professional Responsibility, Legal Research, Moot Court, and Analysis and Writing as an adjunct professor at the Monterey College of Law. He was recognized as an outstanding professor by the student body.
